3. WHAT ARE THE STEPS INVOLVED IN REGISTERING A SOCIETY UNDER THE SOCIETIES ACT 1966?

The registration process typically involves the following steps:
(i) Gather a group of at least seven members.
(ii) Choose a name for your society, ensuring it is unique and not similar to any existing registered society.
(iii) Draft a constitution that outlines the society's objectives, rules, and governing structure. Remember, the constitution must be well drafted as it will be use throughout the establishment of the society.
(iv) Complete the registration forms provided by the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
(v) Submit the application to the ROS along with the required documents and fees.
(vi) Await approval from the ROS.
Sidenote: The name Malaysia only can be used only if 7 committees are from 7 different states with referring to their IC.

4. WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE REGISTRATION OF A SOCIETY UNDER THE SOCIETIES ACT 1966?

When applying for registration, you typically need to submit the following documents:
(i) Completed application forms.
(ii) A copy of your society's constitution.
(iii) A list of the names, addresses, and occupations of the society's office bearers with supportive documents of LHDN Stamp Duty-paid Tenancy Agreement or related supporting evidencing of the business address.
(iv) A list of the names, addresses, and occupations of the society's members.
(v) Minutes of the meeting where the society's office bearers were elected.
(vi) Any other documents requested by the ROS.
