MEDIA, ENTERTAINMENT & CREATIVE INDUSTRY  

Film, Digital Content and Co-Production 

  1. Advised Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS) in the following matters: 
  • reviewing and amending the Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, application forms and template offer letters for the Digital Content Fund, and providing legal opinions on ongoing funded projects; 
  • drafting template offer letters, supplemental agreements for Production Economic Stimulus Initiative recipients and appointment letters for script evaluators under the Pakej Perlindungan Rakyat dan Pemulihan Ekonomi initiative of the Digital Content Fund; 
  • drafting the Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, Terms and Conditions and preparing all supporting documentation (including application forms and certificates of approval) for the International Film Co-Production Program under the Film Co-Production Agreement between the Government of Australia and the Government of Malaysia; 
  • reviewing and amending the Guidelines, General Terms and Conditions, Committee Guidelines and the full suite of application and approval documentation for the Film in Malaysia Incentive; 
  • reviewing template Film Co-Production Agreements for proposed International Film Co-Production Programs with the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Government of India and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

Broadcasting and Licensing 

2. Advised Al Hijrah Media Corporation in respect of the obtainment of the relevant licences from Public Performance Malaysia Berhad for the broadcast, simulcast and reproduction of copyrighted works, including reviewing the applicable licence agreements. 

Artist Management and Entertainment Contracts 

3. Advised Beegood Media Sdn Bhd in respect of the management services provided to Malaysian recording artists under its label, including drafting template Artist Management Agreements.
