Norlaila graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Tasmania, Australia in 2008. She obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2011 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 5 December 2011.

She is a returning alumna of Low & Partners, rejoining as a Senior Associate after more a decade supporting legal innovation and strategic growth across ASEAN and Asia Pacific in KPMG Law Asia Pacific and ZICO Law Network (the largest law firm in Malaysia). Her expertise—rooted in law, editorial precision, and systems-thinking helps shape internal workflows and forward-facing legal solutions.

Norlaila has supported legal teams in areas including personal data protection, foreign direct investment, competition law, e-commerce, and digital signatures.

Her work at KPMG Law Asia Pacific and ZICO Law Network included facilitating knowledge management and training initiatives, developing legal content, and contributing as a lead researcher to regionally circulated publications, such as:

  • Whistleblowing Laws in ASEAN in the Context of Ease of Doing Business (The Edge Malaysia)
  • Legal Issues and Implications of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) (CIMB ASEAN Research Institute)

Her ability to distil complexity – across both common law and civil law jurisdictions – into strategic, accessible narratives is a hallmark of her editorial and legal approach.

Currently building capacity in Real Estate Law and Conveyancing, she supports residential and commercial transactions with grounded care, strategic curiosity, and principled service.

Her key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing sale and purchase agreements, transfer forms and security documents, assist clients with compliance in due diligence procedures, client advisory for evolving regulations and coordination with other solicitors, banks, land office and authorities.
