Ezyan graduated with double degree Bachelor of Laws in 2008 and Bachelor of Laws(Shari’ah) in 2009 from International Islamic University Malaysia. She was admitted to the Bar on 11th December 2009 upon completion of pupillage at Messrs Norendra & Yap. She began her early practice by handling civil litigation, bankruptcy proceedings, judgment debtor summonses and debt recovery processes.

She gained early introduction to conveyancing practice at Messrs Keh Yen, Ng & Partners by doing direct Developers’ projects and preparing the relevant documents for banking and security documentation with major banking institutions in Malaysia.

She also develops her experience in corporate and commercial transactions wherein she drafted, reviewed, and negotiated a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and legal opinions and conducted due diligence for corporate transactions.

She continued to actively practice in conveyancing in various legal firms in Malaysia where she managed a broad portfolio of conveyancing transactions including but is not limited to:

  • Preparation and reviewing Sale and Purchase Agreements involving direct developers and sub-sale cases
  • Loan documentation for various financial institutions such as RHB Bank, CIMB Bank, Maybank, Public Bank, LPPSA, Bank Simpanan Nasional, AmBank, Hong Leong Bank, UOB Bank, OCBC Bank, Kuwait Finance House, Affin Bank and Alliance Bank
  • Drafting of tenancy agreements and perfection of transfer and charge
  • Discharge of Charge and Deed of receipt and reassignment; and
  • Application of Consent – State, Low-Cost or Foreigner.

Notable Achievements:

Property/Land Related:

  • She managed land acquisition process for an individual client at JKPTG Wilayah Persekutuan from notice of hearing until issuance of Notis Award where the client obtained huge compensation payout of RM1.52 million.
  • She advised and supported the developer-clients to formulate defense against the purchasers and the Joint Management Body at the Strata Management Tribunal on issues of property defect, chiller noise and AGM disputes, ensuring compliance and resolution at the tribunal.

Insolvency & Bankruptcy:

  • She represented the developer-clients in bankruptcy and winding up proceedings at the High Court of Malaya.

Debt Recovery:

  • She conducted Judgment Debtor Summons proceedings against individual and company judgement debtors to recover debts where bankruptcy or winding up proceeding is not feasible.
