Wan Chin, a Senior Associate in our firm, specializes in General Civil Litigation, Conveyancing, and Family Law. She graduated with honours with an LL.B (Hons.) degree from Multimedia University (MMU) in 2019 and was subsequently admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya.

Throughout her pupillage and legal practice, she gained experience in civil and corporate litigation, covering areas such as shareholders' disputes, breaches of director's duties, employment disputes, and defamation cases. With a compassionate approach, she also specializes in Family Law, offering legal guidance on divorce, child custody, spousal support, and family asset distribution.

Prior to joining Messrs Low & Partners, she handled a varied range of conveyancing matters, including developer Sale and Purchase, sub-sale transactions, various banking loan, perfection of transfer and charge and discharge of charge.

Beyond her legal practice, Wan Chin is deeply committed to community service, currently serving as a legal consultant for the Batu Pahat Basketball Association. Her vision is to contribute positively to the community.

Property/Land Related:
  • She advised a well-established public-listed company in property development, Land & General Bhd, on the meticulous preparation of documents for new projects located at Bandar Sri Damansara with a gross development value of RM 460 million.
  • She was involved in a reported High Court case, in relation to the removal of caveat by order of the court.
Employment Matters:
  • She was involved in labour case proceeding relating to monetary claims by an employee in the Labour Court.
  • She was involved in labour case in related to the unlawful dismissal of employee. Through meticulous legal proceedings and considering win-win solutions, she negotiated and successfully closed the settlement for the clients in the case.
Landlord & Tenant Dispute:
  • She was involved in a reported High Court case, in relation to a landlord and tenant dispute for recovery of arrears of rental.
Shareholders’ Dispute & Breach of Directors’ Duties
  • She was involved in a reported High Court case, in relation to the issue of estoppel of a minority shareholder from interfering management of the company and shareholder's disputes. She secured a remarkable victory, establishing that minority shareholder was entitled to company documents and the sum owed by the company.
  • She was involved in a reported High Court case, in relation to directors’ breach of fiduciary duty and conspiracy.
Defamation Matters:
  • She was involved in a High Court’s suit where she represented the company taking legal action against their competitors for publishing defamatory statements throughout social media that damaged the company’s reputation.
  • She was involved in a High Court’s suit defending an individual client against defamation statements in relation to a demand for payment of money.
Conspiracy & Dishonest Assistance Matters:
  • She was involved in a Shah Alam High Court’s suit defending an individual client against the offence of conspiracy and dishonest assistance’s matters.
Contempt of Court:
  • She was involved in a Johor Bahru High Court’s Suit where she represented the Plaintiff initiating legal action against the Defendant for contempt of court by failing to comply with a court order through committal proceedings.
Insolvency & Bankruptcy:
  • She assisted the bankrupt in making an application to the Malaysian Department of Insolvency for overseas and assisted the client in being discharged from bankruptcy.
